How to measure for a hinged door
All you need is a tape measure and three measurements of the opening in the wall. With them you'll know straight away which door to choose on the product page, with no surprises on delivery.

The three measurements, one at a time
Write them down in centimetres, to the nearest half centimetre, without rounding.
AOpening width
Measure across the opening, from wall to wall, at three points: top, middle and bottom.
Keep the smallest measurement.
BOpening height
Measure from the finished floor to the top edge of the opening, on the left and on the right.

CWall thickness
Measure the wall from one face to the other, plaster included, on both sides of the opening.
Standard sizes are for walls from 11 to 13.5 cm.

Four mistakes to avoid
- Measuring the old doorWhat counts is the opening in the wall, not the leaf you have now. If the old frame is still fitted, send us a photo with the measurements and we'll help you.
- Measuring before the floor is laidHeight is taken from the finished floor. If the floor goes in later, the opening changes.
- RoundingWrite the measurements as you read them on the tape, to the half centimetre. Always keep the smallest.
- Forgetting the opening directionDecide beforehand which room the door opens into and which side you want the hinges on.
