Matt White Touch-Up Lacquer Kit

125 ml tin of matt white lacquer, to cover the marks a door picks up over the years: the vacuum cleaner bumping the bottom edge, a ring scratching near the handle, a scrape during a house move.

The kit contains the tin of paint only. Brush and sandpaper are not included: for a small touch-up, a fine-tipped brush is enough and, if the mark is raised, a light pass of 320-grit paper.

How to use it

1. Clean and degrease the area, then dry it well.
2. If the scratch is deep or raised, sand it lightly and remove the dust.
3. Stir the paint before you start: the pigment settles at the bottom of the tin.
4. Apply a thin coat, following the direction of the surface.
5. Let it dry and apply a second coat if needed. Two thin coats cover better than one thick one, which leaves a raised edge.

Before you start

Test on a part that does not show – the top edge of the door or the hinge side – and judge the result once the paint is dry, not while wet: matt white changes slightly as it cures.

The colour is the matt white of our lacquered doors. On doors from other manufacturers, or on a shade other than matt white, a match is not guaranteed: write to us before ordering and we will tell you whether it is suitable.
