The interior doors safe for children in the use of the doors

Child safety here are 5 tips for child-friendly interior doors

The safety of children when using internal doors is a topic that every parent should care about. Domestic accidents, unfortunately, are the order of the day, and can affect anyone. According to reports from the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, the number of accidents occurring at home in one year amounts to around 4.5 million. However, the figure appears to be underestimated, given that in many cases accidents do not require medical intervention, and therefore are not reported.

The situation gets worse when children are involved. Interior doors do not normally pose the primary threat of injury to children inside a home. The danger of getting hurt, however, is always present, but it can be easily reduced with the simple precautions that we will now illustrate.
For the safety of children, always close the interior doors

Children, especially the younger ones, are irresistibly attracted by the thrill of discovery. They love to go around the house looking for inventive new ways to play and have fun. This is a danger that affects both children who already reach the handles, but also those who are still crawling.

If you want to avoid any risk, the advice is undoubtedly to close the doors of the rooms which could present a danger to the safety of the little ones. The kitchen is one of the most classic examples. It is the place in the house where the most injuries occur, and the presence of potentially harmful knives, stoves and other utensils is not suitable for small children.

By keeping the doors of the most dangerous environments closed, any risk will be avoided. To enter, children will necessarily have to draw the attention of their parents, who will thus be able to better control the activity of their little explorers.
Be careful not to slam doors whether they are cheap or modern!

Anyone who lives in particularly windy cities knows how annoying slamming doors can be. The passage of air from one environment to another can cause these phenomena, which in the presence of small children can have a certain degree of danger.

The most common accidents, in this sense, consist of hands or fingers getting stuck between the door and the frame. An injury often not so serious, but certainly painful.

Window frames that close violently can be a problem linked not only to the wind, but to children, who could enjoy moving the sash quickly. An eventuality that is by no means rare, especially if there are two or more children present at the same time.

In these cases, there are two solutions to protect the health of your little ones (and also that of the windows of the house). Close internal doors, or install doorstops. There are different types on the market, from the simplest ones to more complex alternatives. There are also the so-called "slam stoppers", special bearings that are installed on the leaf and ensure that the door, when closed violently, does not hit the frame, leaving a certain margin which allows you to avoid injuries to your hands.
Clearly signal modern interior glass doors

Every now and then, on the internet or on television, one comes across funny videos of people banging their faces on an unseen glass door. Situations like this are often inconsequential and make you smile, but it certainly becomes more serious when children are involved.

For their safety, it is essential to adequately signal the presence of glass doors. The alternatives are different. The most immediate, and certainly less elegant (and which we therefore tend to advise against), is the affixing of stickers or figurines. Alternatively, the ideal would be to choose fixtures with lively decorations, such as this model with etched and colored frosted glass. The color attracts children's attention, and will prevent them from bumping into the door.

In general, any expedient that can signal the existence of the door, and the closing of the leaf, is useful for avoiding this danger as well.
Choosing the right handle for interior doors

If a child cannot reach the handle of a closed door, or fails to use it correctly, he will not be able to open it. This simple assumption is worth pointing out that the arrangement and type of handle can also increase the safety of children in the use of internal fixtures.

Younger children are often surprised with their fingers in their mouths. For even greater safety, you can opt for an antimicrobial handle, which eliminates any danger derived from dirt and impurities.
